Provider Education
Joslin has extensive experience in serving Latinos with diabetes. Through ongoing continuing medical education (CME) programs, Joslin is able to share this knowledge base with clinicians on a national level.
The provider education programs offered by the Latino Initiative address the needs of the full "primary care team," which consists of physicians, dietitians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants and lay health workers. Our strategy is to improve knowledge and expertise among community-based health professionals and paraprofessionals through training that is accessible and applicable to the needs of all levels of health providers serving Latinos. As part of this effort, we provide information about diabetes prevention, education and treatment for Latino populations.
